“I love social media because it exists
at the intersection of humanity and technology.”
— Steve Jobs
Social media has changed everything. Now, someone in the U.S. can easily connect with someone in Australia. Someone in Africa can share their story face-to-face with someone in Alaska. Suddenly, our world doesn’t seem so big anymore.
Social media is a revolution.
With social media giving us the exciting opportunity to connect to one another, I thought to myself: what better way to get the most out of the capabilities of the internet than to learn as much as I can about as many people as I can?
As a writer, I love the opportunity to sit down with perfect strangers and discover what motivates them. Every person in this world has their story, and their story is unique.
Human beings are driven by our past to build for our future. We learn through trial and error, we grow through mistakes and heartbreak. As someone who truly enjoys getting to know and understand someone inside and out, I became motivated to make it my mission to get to know as many people as I can while sharing their story with the world.
And so, #P2P was born.
“B2B and B2C no longer exists. All that matters now
is P2P. People-To-People.”
— Jeremiah Owyang
#P2P is my social experiment. Whether it’s in-person, or over Skype, I’ll spend the next year (or longer, if the bug keeps buzzing) getting to know people from all walks of life. The #P2P initiative will introduce you to individuals from around the nation and beyond; from a red carpet interviewer in Hollywood to an outdoorsman in Colorado, from a cancer survivor turned travel enthusiast in Austin to an entrepreneur in Detroit looking to inspire a city on the rise.
Join me on a weekly basis as I introduce you to people with different interests, different backgrounds, different lifestyles and different personal journeys that have led them to become the influential individuals they are today.
They say inspiration is contagious. Let’s put that theory to the test.
